I gave up trying to pick music that wasn't written or sang by drugies because most of them are drugies |
I know the feeling
Classic music does have its place though, to keep me calm after studying for hours. Its relaxing

Aah 10ring...Now you insult my music tastes...How about Iron Butterfly?? |
Gidday Bushy....how are you mate? Enjoying the relaxation?
I enjoy classical.....it is after all the original "big band" isn't it.
Aahh, Iron Butterfly.....I have both Inagadadavida and Metamorphisis in my LP collection. They are awesome. One of the best ever drum solos is in Inagadadivida, it is even better than the one on Grand Funk Railroad Live....the double LP. Led Zepelin did a good drum solo on their live shows, but never put it onto an LP as far as I know. I have it on video. And while we are talking good bands from the past (that we never hear of now) I have a bit of Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention.....their Billy The Mountain LP is good, Cream...I think every one of their tracks is almost a classic, like Pressed Rat and Warthog and of course their is The Moody Blues....I could keep going on and on. Love music from that era. And I still get a good laugh from Cheech and Chong, as do my grandkids. Music is timeless, a universal language.
Cheers, Vince

I also like :
Nazareth - Hair of the Dog - Please Don't Judas Me
one of best song I think.
while we are on this music topic. I found a good site for downloading music. its legal and legit.
www.allofmp3.com
you can get whole albums for about $1.30 , depending on how larg the songs are.
most songs that are 4 to 5 megs are about 10 to 13 cents for each song.
they also have a program called allTunes for downloading the songs. it works well. resumes and keeps accurate account of your money account.

I've been using all of MP3's website for ages and it is Kosher. Easy to use and cheap! Only legit in that there is no copyright law in Russia for electronically held music. So, technically, not breaking any laws...

Need to watch it when using other countries copyrights sometimes they dont apply to other countries. Need to watch out for that especially if your under the watchful eyes of the RIAA
Look at Canada's laws for example they are completly different then the laws in the US.

Canada's debate over file swapping flared last December, when the country's Copyright Board, which regulates intellectual property issues, ruled that downloading songs from a peer-to-peer network for personal use--but not necessarily uploading--appeared to be legal.
The regulators cited a long-standing rule in Canada, in which most copying for personal use was allowed. To repay artists and record labels for revenue lost by this activity, the government imposes a fee on blank tapes, CDs and even hard disk-based MP3 players such as Apple Computer's iPod, and distributes that revenue to copyright holders.
With respect to downloading, the judge accepted the Copyright Board's early decision almost without comment. But he went further, citing a recent Supreme Court decision to say that making music available online also appeared to be legal.
In that recent case, the Supreme Court ruled that libraries were not "authorizing" copyright infringement simply by putting photocopy machines near books. The libraries were justified in assuming that their customers were using the copiers in a legal manner, the high court ruled.
Finckenstein said the same rationale should apply to peer-to-peer users.
"The mere fact of placing a copy on a shared directory in a computer where that copy can be accessed via a P2P service does not amount to distribution," Finckenstein wrote. "Before it constitutes distribution, there must be a positive act by the owner of the shared directory, such as sending out the copies or advertising that they are available for copying." |
