9 x 19mm Carbine loads?

I just picked up a CZ Scorpion carbine. I've found some carbine loads in an old Accurate manual. I was wondering if any of you folks have tried any 9mm carbine loads that you liked.

Yet another weapon of mass hysteria banned from us, the fact its for defence is a no-no here after all the lawyers have made sure the criminals have more rights than us.....
Pumpkin I am assuming its recoil operated so a near max load of whatever powder and a jacketed projectile would be the go, taking into account accuracy and how tough the action is.
Some of those fragmenting projectiles would be worth looking at.

I did see that Accurate Arms No. 7 was developed for 9mm carbine loads. I guess I'll pick some up. (Like I need another powder...)

Ultimately, so long as the maximum pressure is the same, the same powders that work best in a 4 inch barrel will work best in a 24 inch barrel.

A cartridge has a given volume for powder with a given bullet. The powder that comes closest to filling that volume and reaching the set pressure level will be the same no matter how long the barrel is.
The longer barrel will likely achieve higher velocities and the residue from the powder will be cooler when it reaches the muzzle but those are incidental to the barrel time and not because the powder has not burned.

I would think that the slower the burn rate the better for the longer barrel.

I'm also getting some feedback from another forum I visit. Leaning toward some CFE Pistol (which I already have) or Power Pistol (which I might have...) and 124-125 grain bullets (which I have).

Bushy you are right, as long as you can get enough of the slow powder to produce the pressure levels. 4350 is a slow burning powder but it won't do anything in a 9mm because you cant get enough in that shell to generate the pressure necessary to burn it. For that shell you need a certain burn rate at the volume level you have available.

Powders slower than AA#7 tend to give lower velocities due to powder space constraints, while the fastest powders give lower velocities due to the fast pressure rise. (I have been studying) TiteGroup is about the fastest powder that gives high velocities. It has to do with the formulation that keeps the pressure rise consistent throughout the ignition range - which is why it is insensitive to volume compared to other powders.

Geez Paul I couldnt get all the 4350 to burn in a 25/06 7 ft of flame out the front at dusk.
Not an isis hope in hell of getting it to burn in a 9mm.
I found Bullseye worked well in 9mm, but I cant remember the load.

I'm still jealous Mike.

Hi DHC-sorry mike-don't mean to cut you out!Dhc-I've had excellent luck with Alliant (Unique),or Hodgdens-Universal Clays for 9mm and 45 auto in rifle (carbine)or pistol!Both seem to have very similar burnrates and volumes-altho not the same!....And the hodgdens is probably on the OZ market under another name or number as most of hodgdens powders seem to come from OZ anymore!
