Well, I wish I could say this was because I have a big buck working my woods, but instead, I have a thief stealing items from my property.
I need a good working camera with infrared non flash photo capabilities to provide my local sheriff withh some evidence...
anyone have anything they aren't using they would like to sell? I am sick of being robbed of things that I had sitting on my property. MY property. grrrrrrr...

Good luck bud those light fingered huas need a good beating, just dont do it yourself cause the law takes a bit of a dim view of such things.

I wish at times that I didn't have any ethics or morals, like these types of people dont have...but I can't go against everything that I believe in just to kick their can around the block.
I understand...but I can do it in my mind and enjoy it there, right? lol

Be aware the Moultree (I think that's how you spell it) has infrared diodes but they light up when it flashes. They are visible. Don't know if you can find one that isn't that way. I guess they did that on purpose, they don't get bright, but you can see when it flashes. I also was going to put one in my yard at night but decided not to because I was afraid someone would steal it. I think they don't want you to use it to spy on someone so they made it that way. They don't tell you that anywhere on the package or instructions either.
Instead I got another camera that only works in the daylight and only works as a time-lapse camera. You set it to go off at intervals.

So far I'm pleased with my Cuddeback. I'll be using it to monitor my yard to see if I can catch the SOB who cut my fence.

I emailed the Sheriff who I have a good amount of respect for, and told him what happened. Turns out the neighbors lost a lot of scrap metal this week too, and the Sheriff has a suspect, but their idea was the same as mine...get a camera out there and set some bait out and catch them redhanded!
I am all for it. I am going to shop eBay tonite and Suzanne, thanks for the info about the Moultry, good to know! Thanks all!

I will look around and find the advertizment of a FLIR camera that transmits the photographs to a receiver unit. The security in that is that if the camera is compromised and broken or stolen that the photographs are safe. It was 1080p also I believe. Seems to be about $300 for the unit.

219, depending on location, etc. you might be able to use an inexpensive web cam for some monitoring. Since I had one I put it inside the house, pointed at the problem area and set to "motion activation".
Negatives: little night capability, yesterday was pretty windy so I got about forty 30 second video clips of trees waving...
Positives: good daytime quality (and my problem seems to be during the day when we aren't around), I can select the length of the video, I can email the first frame to myself.

Hey Zipper, here is a website canada.sportsmansguide...6&ra=false
for some cameras.
It is the Canadian site but you can also go to the US site.
There are several cameras that may fit te bill for you.
Good Luck!

Well zipper now you have the sheriff on side you will get results and if you happen to come home and catch the huas you will get a prompt responce.
not to many years ago alot of cars were being broken into on a back road while guys were away hunting. this was happening all the time as 20-30 cars are parked on this road most weekends, well it just so happened that some fellas were out shining a light around one night and spotted some wheel marks heading off down a back trail, they followed caught the guys and gave them a good beating. no more breakins and the cops had a good laugh when told.
