I was in a large gun shop today and they have lots of everything in the way of powder, bullets, shot and primers (except no Winchester rifle or pistol primers). The old price structure is back in place. Now if they could get Winchester primers life would be good. Take care...

Good question regarding the shortage of Winchester rifle and pistol primers. The gun shop had a lot of Winchester shotgun primers. Take care...

Went into Cabela's yesterday. They not only had lots of reloading components as well as ammo stacked everywhere! And the price of .223 was the lowest I've seen in a long time.

Cabela's is opening a shop in Oregon and it just so happens to be here in my little town. They're moving into a space in the mall where there's a furniture shop so they can get freeway exposure. I'm stoked! It's the first one in Ore.

I am seeing a lot of reloading components in the shops I visit. Looks like their backorders are getting filled. All the best...

I haven't been to the big stores lately but all the small shops have pretty much every thing again. I don't think the prices have gone down any though.

Suz a Cabella's in town what a score. My wife would not like that at all, I would probably make 3 trip a day to the store. I always stop at the one in Rogers MN when I go to the VA in Minneapolis.

A Wal-Mart super store is coming to Schnecksville next year. Looks like I'll be buying my ammo there. All the best...

Walmart is the only store that I've found that didn't raise prices during the shortage, just limited what you could by to 2 boxes. I'm getting all my .22LR and pistol ammo there. Cabela's has been selling .223 very reasonably. Had Remington at 7.99, PMC at 6.49, and Russian at 3.99 - all 55 FMJ.

Just out of curiosity what do you mean by this statement? That the price of primers and powder as receded to it's pre-shortage levels? Because around here, it's the complete opposite.

During the shortage, Sportsmans Warehouse almost never had anything in stock. I'm talking quite bare shelves with a smattering of things here and there. But, there prices hardly changed (they did limit primers and powders to a certain amount though). Powder was about $25/lb and primers $30/k. Another local mom & pop gun shop was the same (although they had nearly full shelves during the "shortage", it just sold very quickly on populare items like primers and specific powders).

Now that everything has come back in stock? Primers at SW $37/K and primers at the local shop are $40/k. The local shop now also charged $30/lb for Alliant brand powder. I really hope these prices reverse... Mad

Things are picking up out here too...

At my local spot I nabbed a lb. of 4831, an open and raped bag of patches and ran outta there like the roof was coming down- a good day for reloading components here in LaLa Land for sure!

I have seen prices level off for powder and primers to the pre-Obama costs. IMR powders that were up to $26 a pound are now $23 around here and one shop has them for $21. Primers from CCI and Winchester that were $40 a 1,000 are now $30 to $32 a 1,000. Lead shot and bullets are going up a bit. Hornady bullets are the least expensive compared to Sierra and Speer prices. Hope this helps. All the best...
