Thinking about a J frame or a M85 Taurus. STOP. At least until you have a chance to handle the new LCR from Ruger. If you are attracted to a snubbie, handle one of these before you next purchase.

This is an impressive .38 and handles far differently from our Js. +P rated, as you would expect, the lighter LCR doesn't show it in recoil, but, it is the accuracy that will amaze. This revolver is easy to stage the cylinder to the bore and the next bit of pressure sends the round downrange.

Some may be unimpressed with the looks or the design. Doesn't matter, once you fire it, all questions will be resolved. At least, that was the case for me. So, home I went and dug out a J, got a good trade and now, the LCR has found another fan. Holsters will follow in time as the size would allow useage of the J frame boned holsters.

Again, this is another revolver that merits consideration. With the incorporation of polymer and a newly designed trigger group, the LCR is going to sell out for the foreseeable future.

Any LCR owners out there? Whatcha think?

Handloader...On another site (www.missouricarry.com) we were discussing the Ruger LCR. One of the noted drawbacks seem to be that it is flame etching the top strap at the cylinder/barrel gap prematurely. You might have a look at that...

Good suggestion and taken to heart, Bushy. I have a few hundred rounds through it at this time, but, I'll fire more tomorrow.

I like shooting in Prescott this time of year. At a mile high elevation, I can escape the heat of the Valley. Too, a few gunwriters and some Ruger folks show up from time to time. That is where I was introduced to the LCR and was given a few cylinders full to fire.

That LCR has several thousand +Ps through it, 125gr and seemed to be running fine, however, I didn't check the topstrap. One of our customers bought the first one we received at the store and shoots it often; I'll have to check his and see.
