My friend is moving to Airdrie Alberta and he has a custom made Longbow that ive always wanted to have. I dont know much about this bow except that its very hard to pull, educated guess probably around 100-150 lbs draw. It was custom made by a bowmaker in British Columbia. It looks awesome and i can have it for $300 including a bunch of arrows and arrow making material.

What u guys think of this buy? Ive got a 30lbs bow that i have trained myself into and the challenge of not being to really aim is fun! But if ur patient ur efforts will be awarded and i think this would also be an awesome pastime.

Dan

Time to get the weights out Dan....start building them muscles buddy.

Imagine the hitting force and range of a 150 lb longbow...simply awesome.

Cheers, Vince

You bet Vince!!! Even though i am pretty strong for my size and age i will still have to train my muscles and build them up for that much stress but when i have, wow will that ever be a monster!!! Ive read accounts of english longbowmen shooting and killing armored calvary at up to 400 yards!!

400 yards is the correct distance, but you don't have to be accurate when you are raining down hundreds of arrows on the target and the target is several hundred men. One of them (or more) will hit a target...

I know this is a old post, but was wondering if you bought this Bow.

I use to shoot a 70 pound re-curve @28". I was probably pulling close to 80# at 30" draw. I shot it all the time and was never a issue to hold it back for a minute waiting for a good shot.

That bow was stolen a long time ago. Now I bought a 68# @ 28" Draw. at 30" it pulls 75#. I am a little older now and it took a bit to get use to it.

I would think a 100# or more would be way too much for me.

if you got this bow how is it working out for you ?
