I know the situation well. They run down the street in front of my house ....... and there is nothing I can do about it (legally) except watch. If I was to shoot one, I would be charged with shooting in town limits and likely lose my guns, get fined etc. By the way, I live on the edge of town and there is a pasture across the street from me. I almost hit a coyote (to bad I missed) when I was headed downtown the other night.

Look at the bright side of this...At least your neighbors will finally keep that damn dog in at night. Should cut down on stray dogs and cats too...

Yep, there's hardly a stray cat around this neighborhood and no stray dogs at all. My only concern is the young neighbor kids.

I keep my grandsons in my fenced yard when they are here but some of the neighbors don't think the same about their kids I guess.

Just a thought I had.

Not sure ...... I'd have to check, but somehow I don't think one can.

1895,

Well when it comes to hunting I always hear about by laws that prevent people from shooting a firearm in city limits but never heard of anyone talk about bows so it was a thought I had. Smile

Well now 1985ss old matey.......its time to "rat out" your skills in trapping or snaring. Use the pasture across the street from you, if it has a corner thats out of sight, and set up a snare or three. That'll get the buggers.

Vince had my thoughts exactly. Trap the bas**rds where no one else can see and hear 'em.

The problem is Vince that the complete pasture is in plain site. There are no trees etc. All there is is grass. There are houses up and down the street from me and one would easily be spotted doing something like that and one never knows which house has tree huggers in it. Maybe 'Mitri's idea is the best. At least it would be silent. I may have to invest in a compound bow. Smile

hunterjoe21,

Most of thouse pellet guns will get a Canadian charged if they used them in city limits, if its any type of gun and it shoots something be it by air, electricity (like a rail gun), gunpowder or a act of God at a speed faster then 500fps its a firearm in the eyes of the law here. Smile

How about a crossbow, 345fps. Put a scope on it and you'd be all set. With a little practice I bet you could place a shot out to 100 yards. Use carbon bolts and Crimson Talon Hyper Speed broadheads. Super accurate, fast and flat shooting.

Same problem, I think, I bet you'll find out they're illegal to use in town limits. What's on the far side of the pasture 1895? Or are there any treed areas nearby. I bet that's your best trapping spot and I bet if you let the neighbors know, they'll keep their kids the heck outta there.
