Hi folks.

Anybody got one? I'm reloading 6.5x55mm swedish with Nosler 120g spitzer ballistic tip. Can someone find me the official reloading data? Straight from the book please. Using Hodgon H414 powder powder.

Don't ask me to change what I've got as i've already bought it! I've got manuals for Speer and Hornady but like the genius I am, I bought Nosler bullets. Don't ask 'why', it was just a good idea at the time... Shocked

Daveyboy.

Nosler #4 doesn't list H414 for the 120gr BT. They do list W760 (same powder) for the 125gr Partitions with starting loads of 39gr, max of 43gr.

Interpolation is sometimes required when working with specific powder/bullet combinations. If Speer or Hornady have H414 data, it can be a good reference when using the Noslers. There is probably more variation between various rifles than switching brands of bullets of the same weight, but, prudence is the operating word.

Nosler #5 manual also does not list H414 powder. However, the Lyman 48th edition does show loadings for the 120 gr Nosler Ball Tip. H414 shows Min= 40.0 grs (2379 fps) Max= 44.5 grs (2664 fps) Hope this helps.

Blaine's load information will work for your bullets with no real problem. Just start at the low end and work yourself up carefully.

The Sierra manual lists H414 for 120 spitzer as starting at 40.9grs for 2700fps and a maximum of 44.2grs for 2900fps. I see no problem here as long as you start low.

This is the information from the Hodgdon website which is the exact same information that is in the new 2006 Reloading Guide and magazine manual.
For a starting load just reduce the load listed by 10% and work up slowly. In the case of H414 the start load would be 40.0 gr and Max is 44.5 gr
