I may get lynched for saying this but Norinco make a copy of them for a really good price and I have never heard anyone rubbish Noricos for how they work. just a thought a brand new rifle still in the box would be a great gift.

I will tell the most accurate 22 I have ever had was a Norinco (browning replica) with open sites. I had a lot of fun with it and was dumb and got rid of it. I have seen some used ones around and am thinking of getting another. I do miss that thing and figure it would make a good grouse gun. I use my 10-22 on grouse and do just fine but that Norinco blew my mind how accurate it was, I never missed anything I aimed that thing at. Anyhow tell that boy of your Dallan he is doing great and I am sure he will do just fine on the final.

Well my boy came back last night from his class and final exam, he had an ear to ear grin which was a dead give-away that he passed with flying colors. Big relief off for both him and me for sure. His first question to me was "So what can we go hunt first?" LOL!

I need to get him out shooting some skeet with the .410 he will use. Its going to be a fun fall for sure :).

The single best "pawn shop buy" I ever made was a Norninco takedown (JW-20) for $75. I bought it for my wife, the original owner didnt know how to clean it so he shot it until the action wouldnt cycle then pawned it off as a "piece of junk". I took it home and cleaned it up, really surprised at how identical it was to my Browning. Its been a fantastic rifle and was the gun my boy actually used in his shooting test.

I have been watching for another Norinco / Interarms copy and have seen a few around the internet I nearly jumped on. They seem to run around $250-300 lately. Bill Clinton made them illegal to be imported into the US so thats the reason they are increasing in price.

IMO, one of the best .22 rifle designs ever.

I actually have a Norinco JW 20. My dad bought it at a place in St. Louis called Service Merchandise years ago for $100 bucks. Got a Reddot scope on it and my daughters shoot it all the time. Its a sweet little gun. They like that gun, and the woodsman challenger. they call them their Wood walking guns.

Thats great your boy passed. I figured he would as it sounded like he was pretty determined. I was at the gun shop the other day and saw a Norinco browning replica for $129.00 I am thinking I may just go pick it up. It sure brought back a lot of memories for me. Great gun even for a knock off lol. Anyhow congrats to Dallan and son.

Give the young fella a big pat on the back from me Dallan...he done good mate. Love his first comment mate...you have yourself a great little hunting partner there.

No shortage of Norincos in the gunshops out here mate...but it's maybe a tad far to send one, and the freight would be prohibitive. Keep your ear to the ground mate...they are out there and one is bound to pop up at the right price. In fact, I reckon if everyone on here kept an eye out for ya as well, then we are bound to find one at the right price. Very Happy Very Happy

Cheers, Vince
