Footwear for hunting. Gotta have it. Some last, some...well. I've paid top dollar for some with good results and not so good.

This latest pair? Two thumbs up!

Some off brand made by Outdoor Gear. Comfy, seems durable, water proof and insulated. 40$ at Big 5. Got 4 hunts on them, and, they aint come apart yet! Which is saying something where I hunt and for all the hiking/running I do-last pair lasted half a day and cut my hunt short when they failed- no more mail order boots for me. Mock toes last two hunts max and then they get cut to shreds and my socks get dirty.

They got some knicks and scrapes, couple cuts but no leaks, toes are coated in resin and man is this stuff pungent. A snake that latches on to one of these will probably catch a mean buzz. Very Happy

I'm a boot-a-holic, love boots, always in the market for boots so maybe some of yours will gimme some ideas and ....

What's on yer tootsies?!?!

I'm currently wearing some Meindl sambars (sold in the us as kanas).

For the sake of a photo
www.ebay.com.au/itm/Me...0599153549

I havent taken them hunting yet (average health is a bastard) but I hope to remedy this in the next few weeks.
Before these I wore my issue Terra combat boots, but they ensure wet feet in long wet grass (great in the tropics, not where its cold for queenslanders at any rate)

I have a couple of pairs of boots for stompin'...my old Army issue boots made by Redback...in the first pic.

If water finds its way into my Redbacks, it isn't an issue...they have small drain holes near the instep and they dry out very quickly without becoming uncomfortable.

For my more relaxed days in the bush...when I don't have to do any stompin', I got me Japanese Ridin' Boots...in the second pic. Water or wet feet ain't a problem with these...they dry OK. Laughing Laughing

Cheers, Vince

After years of wearing leather boots and suffering from scaulded feet after a big weekend in the bush Ive gone to racing bullers (calf lenght lace up rubber gumboots) and no way will I EVER go back. my feet stay dry in the wet the gaitors I wear over them keep the crap out of the top of them. even after a hard day on the hill my feet still feel just like Ive got my favourite pair of slippers on. last weekend I never slipped over once, my buddy with vibant soles on expensive boots was slipping all over the show.

For years I like Le Chameau for hunting. Natural rubber on the outside, camelleather on the inside. A little expensive, a little heavy at the feeth, but I'll do at least 10 years with a pair (and even when the zipper fails, you can have it repaired). You should try them: cool in the summer, warm in the winter. I see in the States they call my boots "chasseur", the french word for "hunter".

Before I started with Le Chameau I used Aigle. Also french, less expensive, easier and lighter on the feeth but: 1 pair per season!

Been using Bata steel cap work boot for the past few years.
Comfy and functional for daily wear, with aggressive enough treat for bush walk.

I'm due a pair, I bought my last ones in "98 , I was kicking around the idea of going leather with good soles and paying big bucks for some real nice socks. Comparatively you can buy some pretty nice wooleys for alot less then high tech linings.
