Obviously he wasn't there when you stood up and moved your elk out of the area...but I bet he wasn't far away...thinking to himself...awww, c'mon man, there's too much for you there, leave a bit bit for me eh. Laughing

Could have at least cleaned it and left some of the organs for the nice kitty. He was weighing what chance he had when you just brought down the elk.. decided you were too much for him to take on.

I have never seen a cat get that close to people.... I'm concerned.

spooky stuff.... ive only been that close to one of those big kitties once as a little kid.... dad and i were out bow hunting, and we saw him at under 10 yards... played a long game of cat and mouse... (no pun intended) Needless to say that was the last time my dad ever went bow hunting without some kind of back up firearm...

I've gotten use to carrying a side arm even when I hunt with a rifle. Now I have one more reason on my list.

The other pictures are smaller size - fewer pixels - with the same date...
That means that they are copies of the larger one here or a larger one from somewhere else.

wait - the date of the picture file is 10/10/10
the date of the post is 10/6/10.....
How can you post a picture before it is taken?????????

I got the picture from a friend shortly after he took it and posted it. Then I resized it on the 10-6-10.

I did wonder about it when I first saw it. The Mt. Lion in the photo didn't look quite right to me, but I didn't want to say anything. Since you claimed it was your friend in the photo, I didn't want to call B.S. on it.

It was a friend of a friend of mine that sent it to me. and it did not look quite rite to me either.
