No Elk Hunt for me this year.

In 2009 I was too tied up in business stuff & this year I'm just too damn' FAT & have problems with my right knee, so running around @ 10,000' in the San Juan mountains is out of the question.
I put on more than 30lbs & hit 265lbs after I stopped smoking last year, despite taking measures to reduce calorie intake.
Looks like my visit to the US this Fall will be to Oklahoma for whitetail deer - nice & flat where I'm headed.

Hopefully by next year my knee will have been fixed & I will no longer be a bucket of lard. Very Happy

English Mike, sounds like you have some strong motivation to get back in shape! I've just started to get into Elk hunting. It's an unique hunting experience and I have lots to learn. Good to know you will be in OK for some whitetails.

Last year was the lucky one for our group I reckon - three out of four tags filled & I missed it.
I'm looking forward to November though, with a different place to visit & different quarry.
