Well Bushmaster, it is good to have you back.
I hope you didn't lose too much with the drive crash.
I know I have experienced your line,"Simmer down girls" but I can't remember if it was my uncle John or one of my friends who said it.
It has always sounded like something the DI would say....

Where you able to save anything off your old hard drive? Sometimes when a hard drive packs it in it's the info you lose that's hard to replace. Sad

So true mate. I lost a HDD a couple of years back and it had 130 GB of data on it, which included a lot of family photographs. Most upsetting. Sad

The best thing to do is to back up everything on your HD on an external HD that is really not that expensive these days, considering!

that is exactly what I have done now mate. Purchased a Western Digital Lil Black Book (360 GB)...works a treat for backup.

Bushy...if you have VERY important data on your "dead" drive that you simply cannot afford to loose, then there are companies who specialise in recovering data from kaput HDD mate. Worst part is the cost...it ain't cheap. I'm now back on topic. Very Happy

I bought a 1Terrabyte external hard drive last year for about $120. My daughter and I are interested in doing more digital photography and video so I figured I'd go ahead and get the extra storage.

Ya think?! Laughing

Hmmm....when it comes to technology and electronic bits?
I borrow it. That's a lot of money I could spend on shootin' supplies and viddles.

My important stuff's on paper, in the safe. Cool

And did I mention I was glad he's back? It's just like finding a lost left sock you were sure the washer ate after two weeks of tossing yer dresser drawers.

It's the little things in life..... Laughing
