Very nice work! May I ask why, if it's a "tactical" rifle, the barrel wasn't finished in something non-reflective?

This rifle was not built for actual tactical situations! The guy I built it for just wanted "something a little different" to shoot coyotes with Shocked Very Happy ...

Thank you guys for the compliments....

Beautiful work. I would love to have a rifle like that. What ballpark figure would it be to have a rifle like that built?

$2,600 minus the scope...

The stock alone was right at $800 and the cost of bedding put it right at $1,000...

Basic rifles with a more affordable H-S Precision stock, completely decked out - minus the scope, starts out at $1,800 and go up from there, depending on options wanted....

DeerSniper, Some questions about the shooting technique you used !!!

I see a Harris bipod and a cement top bench. (I think that’s cement)
I haven’t had very good luck with this configuration.
Is this the set up you used to shoot the groups you’ve posted ?
If so do you pre-load the bipod with forward tension or shoot with it sitting freely?
Do you place a hand over the scope to eliminate the gun jumping up ?

Any info you could give would be appreciated !!!

chambered221,

the bench top is concrete with a rubberized coating on top...

This is the exact set-up that I always use when shooting off a bench, ie., bi-pod in the front and sand bag in the back...

No Sir, I do not pre-load the bi-pod. Is it sitting freely without any tension on it, other than the weight of the gun...

I NEVER place a hand over the scope...

I NEVER touch the forend...

I NEVER "grip" the stock when shooting...

The gun does NOT jump up when fired because of the muzzle brake. Recoil is mild enough that you can actually watch the bullet strike it's target, something really useful for varmint and deer hunters and is why all of my rifles have muzzle brakes on them....
