One more day, 2 to 6 inches of snow forecast, clearing Friday afternoon, new moon, cloud cover for 3 days prior. Camp is in the middle of a migration route for if they start down to winter range.

Our "gun" season hasn't even started yet! ("Gun" season here is shotgun, ML or handgun)

Hunting season has been going full blast here for about 2 weeks. The rut just started this weekend. I've been watching bucks chasing does behind the house. I'm not going to shoot a buck, unless he's got a rocking chair on top of his head. My brother shot one with a 20 inch spread. I'll see if I can get a picture of it.
One of my friends caught about 30 small hogs (15 to 50 pounds) on the road in front of the house at night. The area has a goat fence on the north side of the road. He parked on the south side of the road and these dumb young hogs kept trying to get through the hog fence and couldn't. He jumped out of his truck and pulled out his knife and started grabbing hogs and cutting their throats (talk about primitive hunting weapon). He caught and killed 10 of them before the other 20 got away. The herd came screaming by the house about 11 pm at night and woke my wife and me up! My wife told me that she could hear something screaming. I ran outside with my spot light just in time to see the herd coming through the horse trap on the west side of the house. Now, there's only about a thousand left to go after. There were no grown hogs in this herd.
