As a matter of fact, GroovyJack. Noah had his Ark moored out board of my horse trailer during the last flood here in Missouri. He was taking reservations two by two...And Jack, you shouldn't use the acronim "CHENG"...No one here even knows what that means except you and me... Over...
And 1895zz is the only person I know that delibrately had his ears pinned back....To remove the wrinkles on his face...
Sure hold my age well, huh, gelandangan What ever happened to you?

Gelan was probably born that way mate....just like me.
History is a most fascinating subject. When I "visited" Germany and the UK during my time in the Army I got the chance to see a massive amount of history, especially in London and Scotland. The Tower of London and Edinburgh Castle are just two places that are total history. I'd be there now studying it if I could afford the lifestyle.
There is nothing more humbling than standing on a historic spot that you know another man did, thousands of years ago, trying to visualise it then. I also had a look at a bombed out Church in Germany that only had the steeple remaining, and it had been turned into a German War Memorial...now that was humbling, realising that the "enemy" were just people...like us. Some of the headstones in the cemetery had dates going back to the 1300's on them...magnificent.
History...nothing like it...its our heritage. All we gotta do is keep the mongrel property developers away from historical places and buildings...they only $$$s.
Cheers, Vince

Although I spent two years in Viet Nam with the Marine First Division, you guys brought back lots of memories from my Navy days. Before I volunteered for Viet Nam service with the First Marines, I was trained as an ASW (anti-submarine warfare). Sorry Bushy, I wasn't a black shoe. In fact, the only ship I ever saw was the USS Never Dock in San Diego Boot Camp. Where did you guys go to boot camp? I joined in 1969 for a 4 year hitch.

Being in Naval Aviation, the first joke I had pulled on me was to be sent down to the supply building to get 100 yards of flight line. After that, I didn't believe anything any of the old salts told me. It was funny though, even at my expence.

As a young Sergeant, I once sent a new guy from dept to dept looking for a "box of grid squares", he was gone most of the day, he ended up in the Brigade Sergeant Major's office. The CSM got a 1:50,000 map and cut it into grid squares and boxed it up. My trooper came back to me with this box of grid squares and a message from the CSM stating that I needed to be in his office at 6 am the next morning with the map put back together.
Not learning my lesson - I sent many more folks on useless missions looking for the keys to the drop zone, looking for board stretchers, left handed crescent wrenches. It is back on topic, as it is part of our history!
