Hi all, Got to go to the range sunday. It was fun. Had'nt been out in a while. Took the 243 bull barrel an' the 8mm-06. Wasn't trying to group anything ,just needed to blow off some steam an' stress. I must say though, the 8-06 with a 220gr hdy with 58grs of Imr 4064 will definitly leave a mark after about 35 rds. I got to shoot an' make new friends from another site. Even done some tradin' and gave away 6k of primers. Still got 10k left ,enough for me. Had a great time. the girls said I look relaxed after the range fun. I've been putting them ahead of myself. So they insisted I go an' relax. Hope you all had a great weekend too. Dave Very Happy

It's even more relaxing if you stick your ex-boss' photo up there and fill it with holes...Yup...Works for me...I shoot much better when I do that...

Ahhhhh. We all need to take a break from our daily grind.
Last week I too went to the range, and since it was "only" in the mid 60's the temp was right for trying a bunch of loads for the 6.5 x 55. One really nice treat , was that I found 44.0 gr of H4350 and a 129 SST (3/4" 3 shots), group the same as a Barnes 120 XLC (1" 3 shots) and 49.0 gr. of RL 19.

Yep, Doc cleared me to shoot three weeks ago and I have been 4 times since. Just love being out under the trees and watching the clay birds fly. I still have work to do to get back, but last time out was an 80x100 and I feel good about the rehab.

I keep carrying two new rifles but the clays keep grabbing me and won't let me shoot anywhere but on the clays range. Very Happy
Ed

I have been to the range the last 3 Saturdays and also last Sunday. The weather cooled off enough here in AZ (as stated by Arizona Hunter) that it is down right pleasant. I have been trying to find an accurate load for my .243 Win. I finally gave up and have sent the gun back to the manufacturer. The best that it would group was 4 inches at 50 yards. I kept thinking it was just a break in problem but finally called the manufacturer. They suggested I send it back and let them take a look at it. I am hoping they find me a barrel that will do the 1.5 inches at a 100 yards they specify. Many people have reported much better than that. Last Sunday, I took my .204 out and it still is shooting good - 3 shots into a space of a dime at 100 yards. It shoots better than I do! We (my son-in-law and I) were shooting some animal targets I had printed out. It is fun to stick up an 8 inch Coyote at 100 yds and see how well you can hit it. I figure an 8 inch Coyote at 100 yards is about equivalent to a real Coyote at 300 yards!
