Just want to share with everyone this Extractor I came up with. It is for extracting stuck cases in a reloading die. You can EMAIL me at rednium2 @ yahoo.com for information or send $9.99 M.O. to RR2, Box 233, Wysox, PA 18854. It comes with a drill bit, tap, extractor bushing and screw. Also has a case for storage and instruction sheet. This is a nonimpact extractor that won't damage the reloading die. Thanks, Len

Roshak,

Do you have a pic - kinda curious how it works. Is it universal?

Thanks

Make my own from common hardware store components. 'Bout .89 cents usually.

I have only needed to remove a stuck case a few times and when I have I've done like 4rum. I drill a larger hole into the brass and then with some washers and a self tapping screw I remove the stuck case.

A tap and bit alone cost $3.00 plus the other parts have to be cut and assembled, after being bought. I have sold many on Ebay with 100% Poitive feedback. Others made by major names cost almost $20.00 plus shipping. Metal never touches the dies with this.

I've had 100% success with NO damage to a single die with the same setup as 1895ss. The bit is right on the end of the screw. This worked for me for a number of years as gunsmith at the local sportshop. No doubt that yours works just as well.

That is a good price for a stuck case remover and If it will handle a 300 Win Mag it is universal. I have not seen the one that Roshak is selling but I can tell you that for me to make one it would cost a lot more than $10. If you know how to make one and have the tooling to make it nice then his price is cheap. Yes you can put together a bunch of stuff to do the same job for less money but your time and frustration to do that any time you are in the middle of reloading is worth the money that you spend on a good kit costing twice the price.
I do not know Roshak or his product so this is just my opinion of the kind of product that he is describing and my knowledge of machining processes it takes to make a good extrtactor. I am making the assumption that anyone who retails a product is making a quality product - just as I would. I personally think he is selling it too cheap and the market seems to agree. People are spending more than he is charging for a tool that does the same job.

Well THANKS PaulS for your input. I came up with this set about 15 years ago when I got my 338 WinMag case stuck in a die and I finally started selling them on Ebay only a few months ago. I make a few dollors on it but will not get rich on it unless I sell a lot of sets. I am trying to be fair and help the fellow reloader out too. Thanks again PaulS

I have had one. I mickey moused a puller for that one and as soon as I was done with that batch of bullets I made a puller for cases up to 358 and 30-'06. anything with a large rifle primer I can pull - I can probably use it to pull cases with a small pistol primer too but I have never tried it. I do have an advantage; I have a machine shop in my garage - lathe, two mills, two drill presses, mig welder, grinders, metal breaks and all the hand tools. That makes it easy to make nice stuff.

roshak;

My comments were not intended to belittle or offend. The hardware and method I used to remove stuck cases for customers worked for me. In thousands of rounds of reloading, I have never personally stuck a case in a die. It does happen, I removed several for customers over the years. I do wish you well with you remover. It is NOT overpriced, I only meant that some of us like to 'do-it-yourself'. I'm one of those.

Please take this as a friendly pointer... there is a FREE photo editor available and encouraged for download. It is called Irfanview. You can resize your pics, crop, add text right on the pic and bunches and bunches of things I'll never use.... oh, it changes file extensions like a dream too. If you have a pic in a file extension that is not supported by your operating system you can change it instantly. Please take a look, if you don't already have photo editing software, this is as good as it gets for a starter.

Thanks 4rum, I didn't take offense to you. Just wanted to explain it takes some time to put together. I am a do-it-yourselfer too and just want to share this with the folkes that maybe don't have the time or just didn't think of this. I will check out the photo editing too. Thanks Len
