wildswalker,

Looks good, How is the southpaw action verses the right handed ones for you ?? Confused

My brother is a Southpaw and I'm thinking once he gets his firearms license I'm going to get him a southpaw rifle. Smile

Details, I want more details. Caliber, bullets, reloads? More on the gun.

Oooooh nice! Is it 30-06? I'm a lefty, its hard to find nice rifles in it at times.

My 2 favorite lefty rifles is my M70 7STW and a *mint* Rem700BDL in 243 (rare caliber to find it in).

Very nice looking gun, really nice groups!

Dimitri...

I do "suffer" from the southpaw affliction and can't much like driving a right handed rifle....

A lefty bolt is just as natural for me as a right hand bolt is for a right hand person.

I drive hunting rifles as a rule and it's either a single shot or a lefty bolt that coddles my senses.......

Yote buster...Dallan....

This one started life back in '86 as a plain jane 700 BDL chambered in .270 Win.

I de-BDL'd it many years ago with an oiled stock finish, cut checkering to replace the pressed in junk, de-whitelined it, installed a pachmayer pad, installed a metal grip cap, installed bedding pillars/full free float, had the recessed crown cut and installed a plumb brown metal finish...at that time it wore a fixed 12X Leupy.......

A plentitude of shootin' over the years had left me with fouling issues and the need/want for a new tube...and of course a new chambering/makeover.

Since that rifle was bought on compromise back then (I was intending on buying a 30-06 at the time, settled for the .270)...and since this is the 100 year aniversary for the '06, I went that route. Some say it is a boring caliber, I say it's just right.

A good friend of mine installed the new Douglas 1:10 kinda #1ish contour barrel cut at 24 inches...same recessed crown configuration, he's a pro.

I then sent the BBl'd action out to Fit4Duty Inc. in Kansas to a feller named Doug Burche, he applied the baked on Cerakote finish in Sniper Gray and coated all the screw heads in Titanium Gray. All with a matte finish from a goodly bead blasting.

He then applied Micro Slik to the bore...more out of my own curiosity than anything else. Supposedly all I'll ever need to do with this rifle to clean it is run a couple wet patches thru it.....that remains to be verified.

That group is a five round group fired off the bags at 100 yards from a cold barrel each shot and after th initial bore sight/sight in yada yada...

Thinkin' it done good and I'm diggin' the 2X7 Nikon glass for deer/bear/elk/moose duty.

The group was fired with Federal Power Shock 180's as I've found that flavor of Federals to be some darn good factory fodder for the money when reloading issues arise...at present I'm just gonna use factory this year and start reloading for it after the season is over.

There may be a McMillan stock in it's future too.......................

George...

That "table" is my shooting bench....it's attached to my Shooting Shack...which houses my reloading room.

Which, sits in my back yard and is attached to a 200 yard range.......

Spoilin' myself.....(grins)

Here's my boy shootin' his brand new .243 recently.......

Good job on the rifle, I have a range out back, my wife won't let me shoot out the patio doors though. LOL. I gotta build me another room. Nice set up. Very Happy I like that Cerakote finish, man that looks great. Can that be applied to stainless? I want to do something with my Bright stainless rifle.
