Just shoot some moly grease into that joint Vince. That'll make it nice and free.

Have you tried bending it the other way?
Maybe they put it in backwards...

Hello Vince, the reference to operation was in regards to checking the jewels.
Keep working the new joints Vince, its the only way they come good for you

The jewels are still in place mate. I have to keep working the joint to make it viable, but in all honesty I’ve had enough of the pain. I’ve always been able to handle pain, but this time it’s absolutely gutted me...I’ve had enough of it, but I know there is plenty more to come.
Talking to one of the nurses here this morning, I said I am so miserable now that I’m wishing I’d never got it done, and I go down to rehab today...more pain. I’m turning into a whinging sook which is not me at all.

Well,
One cup of cement in the mail comming up.
That's a bit harsh.
Vince, stay positive, its painful, its wearing its debilitating its extended.
Keep your eyes on the prize, that being a pain free knee, you really don't have a choice what is done is done you can't go back, but it will god willing get better.
So that is your job now, get better.
The above is what I told myself when I was going through chemo and radiation treatment and it helped a lot especially when you are at your lowest and quite frankly totally pissed off with it all.
Barring total rejection or massive infection it will start improving, you put up with the army for over 20 years this should be easy

Vince, the pain is temporary. It may seem like forever now but in a short time you will forget the pain and able to enjoy your new knee.
Good thoughts and prayers for your quick recovery.

Oh I hope so Paul. Yesterday was one of the worse days I have been through so far...not so much pain as depression. Talking to the Dr this morning he told me that anaesthetics muck up the seratonin levels in your brain which can bring on depression without warning...even a week after the op. It hit hard, real hard yesterday. Luckily I was able to fight through it, but it wasn’t pleasant.
They changed the dressing on my leg today so I grabbed a quick pic of the wound. No wonder I’m so bloody sore. |
I've had a couple of fairly major ops in my life (major jaw reconstruction after a motorcycle accident being one) & the Doc is right.
Both times I was hit with nigh on suicidal lows for a few days but they did indeed wear off.
TBH the sheer boredom of being stuck in a hospital bed with sod all to do doesn't help - too much time available for brooding.
Anyhow; get well soon or I'll come down there & kick your arse - secure in the knowledge you can't kick back.
