16st Flemmish twister. The string they sent with the bow was for a recurve so the serving was way off and it was only a 12st. WTH??!! Salvaged a wrap from another bow, turned it inside out...and presto neato!

I'd be getting back onto them and letting them know they stuffed up with the string mate. I'd also be asking for the correct string to be forwarded by express post. Don't let them get away with it, otherwise they won't take any care with other orders.

stovey, since you are going retro and want to be authentic, do you have your buckskins and your loincloth yet?

I pinged the shipper at the retail shop that sold it to me. He said it was sent to them that way from PSE.

I was all yeh, right, a too short 12st Recruve string in a longbow box. Suuuure. The box had been opened for inspection at the archery shop that sent it to me- that much was obvious. It also came with no grip or no shelf rest either. PSE don't usually roll like that. Next time? I'll call PSE- they are 149 miles south of me.

If Id'a missed an outing Id'a been steamed. But I pre-ordered 3 Flemish strings from LAS and they literally got here just in time so no worries! I donated the recruve string to the local club here since it was new.

Pardon my understanding of (American) English, but is someone who is playing in his tutu with his fluflu's now struggling with his string?

The mosquitoes sure aren't! They are so small you barely notice them until after they have sucked your blood and are gone.

Those are called "no-see-ums" in this neck of the woods.

Range Report for the Sequoia: Last week was kind of a break in...this week, we put the coals to it.

Got it all set up with the back-up string last night. Let it stretch in over night, re-set the brace @ 7.25". Done. The Flemish strings I tried last week are being reserved to match the Supernocks on my XX75 shafts I use exclusively now.

Got the home made grip on, limb protector on, bear hair rest, beaver balls, blah blah blah....it is ready to hunt.

My accuracy issues are gone (when I don't screw up! Laughing )- it really was due to the nock being too tight on the serving. This was also causing major string slap, which also ruins the shot (after my 3rd quiver last week I stopped shooting, knew something was wrong as the string kept tagging me). The arrow was literally having trouble coming off the string- that causes a zillion issues. I didn't catch it nocking up- too tired and excited. It was pretty obvious, too. My bad! Not one slap today and an arm guard is not needed. Perfect. Used dental floss for nocking points- easy to move and they dont tear up the glove. Serving thread will be used for the permanent job. I'm not using brass sets anymore.

This bow is a JOY to shoot. Smooth as butter like my other ones- but, just a tick smoother! Zero hand shock for a darn near straight bow with very little deflex/reflex. Zero noise. I've tried lots of silencers. Mountain Man Beaver Balls are the best. Since it's pretty dry up here, no worries about wet or too much duff getting in them. Get some.

Cost- $250.00. It's even nice to look at. Clear glass jobs are like that- can't hide booboo's! This bow smokes everything out there. It's a freaking NICE piece that will hunt. Amazing value. Very traditional, almost no deflex/reflex in the shape and no annoying pistol/target/locator grip. It's a modern, very traditional shooter- best of both worlds. PSE nailed it. It broke my "hunter under $200.00" criteria but, what an impressive shooter.

Summary: This is a kick-a** hunting/target/fun bow that flat works and it's my new go-to hunter/shooter. Full stop.

Some decent groups when I had my head pulled out.

Fl-Flu's are just killing it. Note the missing feather. Didn't affect it one bit.

Was shooting between 20-30y. Did some snap shots too, with the flu-flu's. Tims to start airal training.

Pretty, $1000.00 bows? Interwebs forum haters love those...."oooo aaahhh, now that's a bow...."

The rest of us Joe 6-Packs? Here ya go: $250.00 from PSE. With money left over for LOT's of tackle.

Let your shooting to the talking.

Ooooh, wait- one for the armchair interwebs haters in the Trad forums....clear glass over Maple.

Not bad for $250, eh?

Cheap bows can be pretty too! Laughing
