Sorry guys no truck nuts hanging around here, the balls are thay big 6.4L under the hood.

Vince the front receiver is so I can have different views.

So far the mpg is impressing me. Short runs with some ideling I have pulled 11.7 - 12.4, highway cruising has been 15.2 - 16.5. We have had a lot of wind and cold weather so I am hoping to get even better once spring comes.

That mileage is scary mate.

With my car I expect no less than 11 litres per 100km (25mpg) around town and 8 litres per 100 km (35mpg) on the highway.

I'm looking at a 2010 Volvo XC60 5 cylinder diesel at the moment (if I can find another $10K) and I anticipate an average of city/highway mileage to be around 7 litres per 100km (41mpg).

Vince dont forget they got short changed on the gallon, ours is 4.54 liters to the gallon, theirs is 3.75 litres.
So his 16.5 us mpg is roughly equal to 14.2 lt /100km.

Good point Pete...that doesn't sound so bad now...in fact it is more than reasonable considering the big engine.

So the imperial galon has about 20% more fuel than the US gallon...
The kilometer has a a bit more than 62% of the distance in a mile...
So at 15 miles to the gallon it would be 18 miles to the imperial gallon and 28.9 (plus a bit) kilometers per imperial gallon.

Our gas (locally) is selling at $2.50 per gallon so about 6 miles to the dollar.

I don't know what you are paying for gas but I am betting that you don't get the equivalent of 6 miles to the dollar?

So I'm getting 6.4 liters/100 km? (37 mpg)

Weirsy, that sounds like pretty good mileage for that big truck.

For as big and heavy as it is and considering the cold weather I thought it was pretty good. And don't forget I don't drive like it is sunday.
