To zombies.. Very Happy Very Happy

I have almost always cast my own projectiles, but when I saw the pack of 500 Hornady 308cal 168gn Z-max projectile for a good price, I cant help myself and bought a pack.

I believe these are the same to A-Max, only with different color tip (Green instead of red) am I correct?

Zombies beware, I'll load these on my whisper and 308 WIN.

I hope the proj would expand well at lower velocity of the Whisper, thus might give it a bit better game performance.

close but no cigar..they are a SST..well they are in the 123grn .310cal anyway
still a great projectile but not as frangable as an Amax
theory on the SST goes something along lines of they rapidly open then hit resistance and "pop" a bit like opening an umbrella
loads of guys using them on big game over here.
see balistic research site to read a bit more from man who knows his stuff.

Elvis they are definitely 308 168 grainers A-max with green tips LOL.

Somehow Hornady does not show the projectile on their pages, on the other hand they do have this www.hornady.com/store/...8-gr-Z-MAX
loaded cartridges.

Tik & Vince, you guys got soaked okay?
Down here it is so humid my teeth feel mossy..

ok so they must be Amax....in which case wooohoooo thats plurry good price for the projectile the long range guys rave about.it fragments/breaksup at lower velocity causing great amounts of "damage"..not too flash up close/at high velocity unless head/neck shooting or poking in behind foreleg into lungs angling forward as the volatile nature of the projectile prevents deep penertration and wouldnt want to have it blow up on surface.
Nathan Foster talks about the way these work quite a lot so worth a look in data base.
