Ok here, but we need more rain.
In typical thunderstorm fashion its hammered some areas and totally missed others.
I think Vinces side of the city copped it.

I guess the other extreme is Buffalo NY that is getting up to 2 meters of snow.

Yep all good here mate, but Pete got it right. We got hit hard, too much rain too quickly in fact, the water didn't soak in, it just run off.

What would be good is a couple of days of gentle rain so the ground can soak it up.

I saw somewhere on the net that the USA has a weird snow storm hammering some States...apparently it is quite nasty.

Winter storm plus the lake snow effect from Lake Erie combined to give 7 to 8 feet of snow in parts of Buffalo NY yet 5+ miles away they did not receive a foot of snow accumulation. Its supposed to warm up to almost 60F after the storm passes so there is likely to be flooding.

Sheesh its cold but super dry here... ski resorts are making their own snow from pond water. Supposed to get snow by weekend but we'll see. Cant believe how much snow NY got.

Yeah, we've had some January temps already and it's only November. It was 19*F the other morning at 6:20AM when I went to the gym.

This keeps up and it's going to be a hard winter.

Ok out my way, we just caught the edge, again thank god.
A bit of wind and around 15 mm of much needed rain.
Brisbane got smashed, literally, lots of hail damage minor flooding and 500 power lines down, quite a few buildings without roofs from 140 kmh winds.
Not sure if well hear from Vince this morning due to power outages.
Hell chime in when he can.

Edit 39 people injured, 12 hospitalized, no known fatalilities thankfully, around $50,000,000 dollars damage as an early estimate.

OK guys...I made it. All good here, we didn't get the brunt of the storm, but we did get hit reasonably hard. The wind was downright scary...gum trees in the park next door survived this time, but I don't know how...the wind had them almost folded double. We got a big splash of rain...couldn't see anymore than maybe 50 metres it was that heavy, but it only lasted about 20 minutes. They are saying thewinds and the storm were the equivalent of a Level 2 Cyclone (hurricane for you guys in the US). We got that much rain the ground had no option but to soak up a lot, so much it just lay on the ground because the storm water system couldn't handle the quantity.

Rumour has it that this won't be the last storm like this during this summer. Oh well, the water doesn't go astray.
