After looking for several years for the right one to come along, I finally put a S&W model 41 in my collection. 7" barrel and it is in pristine condition. The best I can figure, it was built in the late '80s. I paid $900 for it. Sold two guns to be able to make the deal happen. I'm really happy to get this pistol, and being fussy over the year was worth the wait.
I took it to the range today and so far my CCI Standard Velocity .22s is giving me the best groups.
This is one fine shooting pistol.

You guys know better than me, but the 7" barrel seems more steady than the 5 1/2" barrel.
Without question, my Mark II Competition Target shoots just as good, but as far as the feel of the pistol, and quality, I just don't think that the Ruger is in the same ballpark as the Model 41.
The 41 just screams high quality.

The audacity of some people who brag about a new purchase and never post photos of it. I swear...

No trust around here. I never would have thought that I wouldn't be trusted.
OK, either today or tomorrow, I will beg my one neighbor to take a picture of myself holding my Model 41.
I figure that if I just took a picture of the 41 by itself without me holding it, you would doubt that also.

Doggone it, I sold mine back in the early 1980's (got married) and my model was a 41-1 and if I remember right the slide was made out of aluminum and shot 22 shorts only.
That was the last gun I ever sold and the one's I buy are keepers.!!
Congrats Eric.

Should be getting a picture up within the next couple of hours.
Over the past couple of years the only 41s that I have seen for sale have been 5 1/2".
7" is what I have been looking for, and they have been hard to find.
This one is in great shape and hasn't been used very much.
The guys at the Range knew this guy and they said that he takes good care of his guns.
This 41 was his backup for his Bullseye shooting.
His main gun was a High Standard.
The guns that I sold for this one only cost me around $200.00 of hard cash, so I figure that $200.00 is all that I paid for it.
The only marks at all on this one are some very faint "scuff" marks at the end of the barrel, which can only be seen if one looks very closely for them.

Sure is Mac. I use it for deer hunting along with my .41 Mag. Blackhawk.

I saw that on the photo Bushy, but the finger just looks like it is on the trigger. It actually is about a half inch away from it.
