Gday guys,

Just finished developing an Elektro etching system
Works good.

Here is the test board for it

here is the test result

will begin production run tomorrow and start shipping systems out by end of October.
Already have a few "tentative" orders on the knife forums.
Wish me luck, I am selling these system at pretty low cost.

Gelan...your ideas and gizmos never cease to amaze me mate. There is a market out there for something like this, all you need do is tap into it and start selling.

Make sure you patent it mate...unscrupulous people will find a use for it and rip you off mate.

Thanks guys..

I think I want to try to mark subsonic brass to make sure I did not use the wrong ones.
Or to mark different loads eg hunting vs target etc.

Have not tried this yet, but will do soon as I finished organizing the production.

Geland, I mailed it to a few knife-making friends and one already asked for a quotation. But now I have a question: what's the difference between "simple" and "lux"? (I already know the price-difference Smile )

Thanks Aloy, I am glad they are wanted..

Main difference would be the firmware, an thus to that extend, the main processor memory size and speed.

The higher priced one would have provision to store up to 40 different settings for depth, shade and pulsed DC, thus ensuring even, identical and professional looking repeatable etches.
It also comes with a few extras such as beeper for audio cue, foot or hand activated etch, etc.. I am piling it up as I thought it.
It also come ready to use, in machined boxes, the cheaper one would come as a board, requiring to be installed into a box.

That looks so good!!! You could market that to medical and dental practices for identifying their instruments. In some practices each person has their own set of instruments identified by using colored tape, but when you sterilize them you have to remove the tape or it'll melt. This would be great for that, and doctors seem to suck up any new-fangled innovations to speed up or simplify the work.
