Saw this from one of our advertisers. I use ear plugs all the time; when I fly and when I shoot tactical matches (don't want to risk ear muffs interfering with my check weld). I use custom molded ear plugs. These look interesting. Big dB drop for little cask. Anyone use them?

Nice design, great price too.
I wonder how much it would be retailing here in Oz.

Really nice concept and the price is reasonable. I'm like Elvis though, our earplugs at work are foam, have 30 db reduction and are free. We even encourage our workers to take them home with them for use while lawn-mowing or any other potential hearing damaging activities.

I got a set this year and now only use them for handgun, and not for open, comp'd 38 stupid or 9mm open.
I tried when I shot my rifle - won't do that again. OUCH!
For rifle, I use Peltor Tac 6 without any issues.

I don't know what you mean with "Tac 6", is there much difference with the "Sportac"? My hearing is not so good, but with my Peltor on, I can understand what they are saying in the other room, especially when it's about me they are talking |
Actually that was with a Remington 700 in .223.
Tac 6 is the Peltor model. solutions.3mcanada.ca/...C2793BXJbl
FWIW I wear the microphones to the rear (away from the noise), this way I know what's going on behind me.

Good man! One should always be checking their six o'clock!

Well yours can be better, but mine could be nicer. I have the choise between green or orange, so mine is always green.
But most important: they work OK and once you know them...

Ive tried those electronic earmuffs that a gear freak buddy had out in the bush. really wierd the birds could be heard chirping and a faint sound like the sea in a seashell but not my cuppa tea either, I like to hear the bush sounds around me while stalking, if there are no sounds I know Im making to many and its time for a break.

I too use the Tac 6 muffs & am reasonably happy with them.
They DO need looking after, as a build up of moisture inside them can cause shorts in the circuit boards.
I double them up with ear plugs if shooting full house .357mag loads on the indoor range.

At the moment I am using EAR Foam earplugs and they work a treat.
I have three or four sets of earmuffs, all brilliant, but when shooting shotgun they all get in the way when I get my cheek down on the comb and end up pushed out of place and actually seem the magnify the noise... OUCH OWIES OW OW
I intend to get a set of custom moulded earplugs one day, but they run to around $120 + out here...a bit out of reach right now.
Cheers, Vince

Its ugly, but works well, and its custom :-)
