I would have never tried this but its amzing what a gun is capable of when put to the test. I wouldn't try that in a pump or auto.

Nice to know, but such thing can wake up some stupid nuts that might try more and/or some lawmakers...

but now I love my .410's more Smile

just thinking that I was hesitating to use the 45 LC in that gun... give it a few weeks and I'm also such a 'stupid nut'

All I can say is that's a testament to the manufacturer of that shotgun considering normal 410 loads are 10k to 13,5k psi verses 454 Casull which runs at 50k-60k psi!!

The bad part about this video is somebody is bound to try this after seeing the video and I can just picture an older 410 built in the early 1900's blowing up when a 454 round is put thru it.

Its the idiots that try that and get hurt that screw the rest of us in the long run. I have a new found respect for the .410 though. I am getting one soon but I am not going to be doing anything like that. I just plan on running game loads through it and shooting grouse, quail, and squirls with it. I am also not getting a single shot so I would not even fathom what that would do to a pump action.

The gun was able to withstand a couple of high pressure loads, but I would NOT want to be the one holding it after a few more.

Cheers, Vince

I have a friend who back in the 1980's would cut the end off a .410 shotshell, dump out the pellets then insert the butt of an arrow into the wad, then and insert the whole thing into his break action .410 and shoot it.

I thought he was crazy but it did fire the dang thing *really* fast! Too fast for much accuracy but it was amusing to watch (from a distance).

Stovey - Reminds me of the grapefruit mortars we used to make out of 3.5 inch shell casings with a "Thunderflash" or sub-sea signal charge as the propellant. Lotsa fun doing refueling and jackstay transfers at sea. Only overripe grapefruits and oranges were used. Never heard of anyone getting hit but a particular USN tanker skipper was not amused and that put a stop to our fun. Probably a good thing that prevented an arms race that might of escalated to pumpkins and watermelons LOL.
