When I dress a deer or elk, the anus comes out the other way, through the pelvis. If you are pulling stuff out through the anus you have to cut the small Colon somewhere... also it doesn't fit due to the bladder.

Interesting idea with little actuall need (IMO)

Like both Dallan and Joe, I take the colon along with the intestine and other organs out from the inside. Nothing worse than a burst bladder in the abdominal cavity...yuck.

I can think of a good use for this tool though.....provide it to the Prison Officers where they incarcerate child molesters. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Cheers, Vince

Myself; I take the bladder and colon out from the inside. I always try to tie off the badder and get it out of the way before it breaks or leaks. It can make a mess and alot of work, if you screw up. One of the first things I do is cut around the annis to loosen it so it can be pulled out, especially on elk. Freedyf

Thats a pretty good idea Morax. Well done mate. I will be looking at doing this in the future.

An up side to this is the bladder won't spray everywhere when you throw it in the air for your mate to hit with his shotgun. Laughing Laughing

best not to be a spectator on the bladder field.

they work great, carry a few of them in the lic. holder and they weigh like nothing, can be used for a multitude of things while out in the field from repairing a busted boot lace (zip the eye) to put three of them together and used for a quick arm tourniquit or however ya spell it..

Yeah, I use zip ties the same way Morax and I've found a multitude of uses for them around camp as well.

I know one thing about that new tool (?)...You use it and you will find out, in short order, if the deer is dead. That's for sure...
