Howdy. I got this deer in our early muzzleloader season in late Oct and got it back from the taxidermist yesterday. He did a great job and talk about fast. He did one for me last year and i had it back in 5 months. It's not a biggin but it's my first 8 with the muzzleloader so i had to have it mounted . If anybody that's in my area needs a great reasonably priced taxidermist i would highly recomend this man. Ricks taxidermy 410-392-5912 in Cecil Co MD.

Hi Joe,
Nice trophy! It's bigger than the doe I got and yours has nice hornes I didn't get any horns this year and today the season closes. Mabe 2006 will bring me a good set of horns. There ya go, I now have a New Years Resolution.

Do you need tanned or green hides that are salted and frozen?

That looks pretty good. Man they got it done fast, was it a full tan or that cream stuff they rub on it? My deers hide wont even be back from the tanner until next month ... after that I'll choose the pose / form and it will be done a month or two after. I havent seen this past years antlers since the day after I shot it LOL.
Anyway yes I agree your mount looks nice. What do they charge for such a mount?

Howdy Dalan. It's a full tan, he does all his own tanning. I think thats one reason he can do them so fast. A full shoulder mount is $380.00 most guys in this area are $425.00 or better. The pose I picked was a semi sneak looking left. He was doing a 300lb standing black bear when i picked up my head (I'd sure like to have one of those ) one of these days

My brother who does taxidermy had me come over yesterday to pick my form for my deer... I went with Alert turned left. I'm excited he finally got the cape back and to the stage of ordering forms... he has a few more mounts to finish up before he can do mine but I'm excited.

Very nice picture! You did very well. What muzzleloader did you use? All the best...
