Wait, the clip didn't include him putting the tie over his head, getting it around the collar, and recombing his hair after he messed it up!

Tying a tie correctly is a very personal thing to me and needs to be done properly. The method the guy in the clip uses, whilst probably acceptable to someone who isn't a bit of a purist when it comes to tying and wearing a tie, doesn't do anything for me.
I wear a tie on a semi regular basis and I take great pains to ensure that the Windsor Knot I use is neat and even and the tie is the correct length. The knot must be unobtrusive but fill the gap of the collar without being oversize. It's pride in knowing that the tie looks neat and adds to the overall look of what you are wearing, instead of just being something that was thrown on at the last minute. You often see guys attending Court who normally don't wear a tie and wear one trying to look like someone who isn't a grub.
Did I mention I find a tie a necessary addition to a neat formal outfit?

Yeah...I guess that's O K, but I would still prefer a shinny BBQ gun at my side for those backyard formals.

Totally Pete. Pride in one's appearance is paramount in the military, as we both know.
The three video links I posted will certainly help anybody to learn how to correctly tie a tie so that it is neat and tidy and looks good. They are well worth watching.

I wear a tie now and then. I learned how to tie a Windsor knot a long, LONG time ago.
