So not sure how many of you know it but I got a Large ALICE pack. Anyways never loaded up the pack half seriously to know what it can hold. So since my trip is in a week thats what I did, loaded it up!
2 Weeks of supplies and food, the bag is practically totally full & has stuff stored on the outside even! Lord have mercy on my soul I never thought I could fill up a large ALICE pack!
The bag:
Inside it:
Main Compartment:
1 pair pants
2 short sleeve shirts
1 pair shorts
2 tee shirt
4 pairs of socks
1 spare pair hiking shoes
20 Mountain House Meals (I cheated and filled it with other stuff wont buy the food till I hit Boise)
3 Bottom pockets
Left = Tactical Tailor E&E Pouch (with field supplies) & glow sticks
Center = 1QT canteen in pouch with stove & cup (will go on the waist strap when hiking)
Right = 1QT canteen
Radio Pocket = 100oz/3L Hydration bladder
And for the additional pockets
Tactical Tailor Utility Pouch with MSR Mini-Works water filter (Bottom Right)
HSGI Nalgene Pouch with MSR Feul Bottle (Bottom Left)
HSGI Utility/SAW Pouch with MSR Whisperlight International Stove (Top Left)
HSGI Utility/SAW Pouch with MSR 750ml pot (Top Right)
USGI IFAK Pouch with my first aid kid duh! (Front Top Left)
So I filled a 3,800 cu in pack and then some.
Dang it forgot to put my camera in the pack!
What do you think Bushy ??

Looks like you'd better not walk too fast or you'll fall from exhaustion . As for me , I have a Swedish Military surplus backpack .

Dimitri,
Looks like you've been to Grogan's War Surplus store
(as in Patrick F. McManus ...)

All I know is that it looks pretty sophisticated. At my age, staying in a motel/hotel with lower than a 3 star rating is considered roughing it! Heck, I’d rather stay home. My favorite way to deer hunt is to step out on the back porch in my underwear, blast one, then run back in to warm up! My wife asks me to not do that anymore (at least not without warning her). The last time it happened my bacon and biscuit breakfast ended up on the floor (after a loud scream). (My wife didn’t scream, it was me screaming after the frosty air hit my cajones).

Send 250$ on a backpack or anything else that is "commercial" and have it fail you sucks. And considering most military surplus DOES last much longer, and new "MOLLE" aftermarket gear comes with lifetime warranty's from decent manufactures. When I decided to buy all new it was a easy jump.
English Mike,
Not going commando, if I was I got a M1A, magazine pouches and even a new fangled MOLLE vest for that.

whittling,
Never tried the Swedish pack.
OntheLasGallinas,
Don't know who is Patrick F. McManus but I will take your word for it.
Nothing too fancy really, camping stove, pot, water filter, clothes, first aid kid, and a camera.
dirthawker2004,
Welcome to the forums.
No need for spares of car parts, only spares in the pack is clothing and Water filter + Chlorine tablets. I decided last night after posting not no carry spare shoes.

No 4 pairs of boxers are in the bag.
And I can lift the bag and put it on with one hand by grabbing the one strap like one does with a lighter bag.
