I am 300 miles from home and I finally found the Marlin Model 336 in 35 Rem that I have been looking for, for quit some time. It is in very nice condition and I will let you know what year it was made when I get home. It is old enough that it is not even tapped for a scope. I bought it from the 76 year old gentelman that bought it new and the last time he used it he shot a deer with it 20 years ago. I have not shot it yet but it fits perfectly when I bring it up. Some of you will know what I mean by that. I love it already ............!!!!!!!!

His wife most likely won't know anything about this new love Bushy, if he has any sense.
I'm a Lever Man 1895, so I can feel your love all the way into my computer.
Congrats and good luck with your new toy.
PS-- If you EVER tap that gun for a scope, God will haunt you for the rest of your life.

Good on you 1885,
"How can you fall in love with a rifle (let alone a Marlin)?"
Bushy
What is not to love about a Marlin 357 caliber gun?
Now, a 35 Remington Marlin, well, that just might be the best Bambi thumper ever made in a lever gun. A 200 Remington and a half hand full of 4895 or 4198 and adios Bambi.

I heard good things about the 35 Rem many years ago, but have never had the pleasure of owning one!! I heard it was the best deer and bear cartridge ever made, and that was 45 years ago. Congrats!!!!:)

1895? does yours have the full length magazine? or half mag? mine has the half. I think the half magazine tube looks good.
Congrates on your find.

Well the serial # is K***** which makes it a 1953 model and it is a 336 RC. The magazine is full length. The bore is nice and bright. I likely won't get to shoot it until Sunday. I bought dies with it and I already ordered a Lee Factory Crimp Die.
By the way ......... Thanks everyone.

Ssshhh...Geeezz Crackpo...shot...Ya'll wreck all my fun...If I wasn't pickin' on 1895zz I'd have to pick on you...I have a mod 81 Marlin .22 rifle in the gun safe that can pick a quil of a porcupine at 75 feet. and prints under an inch at 100 yards. But we don't want 1895zz to know that or he'd never let me live it down...
