Sad Sad Sad
yip you KNOW the one..or maybe even two...those guns you had and loved but onsold for something newer and shiney... Scratch Scratch somefolks do it with wives too Scratch Scratch havent worked that one out myself..more than happy to be married to same woman till the ground claims me back.
but back to firearms,Ive moved on a few over the years and sometimes look back with regret
I bought a nice wood furniture H&R pump about 10 years ago and had shot an absolute ton of animals with it,even got a deer out spotlighting hares one evening!!!!
but after getting a beretta semi I decided to move on the pump, cant go wrong with a new semi right???? WRONG,Ive tried but I dislike it quite a lot...will see if it stays in my cabinet..but anyway a month or two back a synthetic version of the same H&R came up forsale at good price so I snapped it up..have fired eggzachary 1 round out of it,smoked a hare at 30ish yards.... gun came up beautifully..but it was souless....so I contacted mate who bought my old wooden stocked gun..and swapped him the newer synthetic one for my old gun back
I swear when it came in the door it called out "hi honey Im home"
them ducks will be in trouble now the A Team is back together.

now your turn, what do you regret selling??

Nope...Every firearm that I have purchased I still have. I purchased my first firearm when I was 18 and I still have it.

An HK91... I was so impressed with the way it shot! But sometimes you just gotta pay the bills...

I’m like Bushy…I bought my first rifle at 17…a Krico in .22 and still have it (and it’s my “go to” for hunting rabbits). I also have in my gun safes every other firearm I have acquired over the years, with the exception of one I gave to a mate many years ago because it duplicated one I already had and he was looking for one. I really don’t want to part with any of my rifles because they all hold some sort of sentimental value to me because most have been “hand me downs” from family etc.

Having said that, I am seriously considering reducing my holdings. I have a Miroku Mk11 in 12g that I bought for shooting clays, but haven’t used since COVID, and it’s worth about AUD$2,500 which frankly is money we could use right now…just means I’d have to shoot clays with my old Fausti Stefano O/U again, or my side x side.

The Browning Hi-Power in 9mm was the issue pistol when I was in the Army…a nice tight one was fairly accurate, but I must admit, it didn’t exactly impress me greatly as an overly accurate pistol…especially if it had done a lot of work.

If they only had made the Browning HP in .45 ACP...
but even then a good S&W revolver would still be my favorit.

And I also hardly ever sold a gun. I did give a few away. But every gun that left me went with the promise that they shouldn't sell it and when they want to, it has to return for the same price to me.

But in the end you're more cleaning guns than shooting them...
and even then sometimes you still spot a must have...

Well, I have sold a few in order to afford a better one. But I don't miss them!

Haven't sold anything yet myself. Figure in a few years the kids will take them from me anyway. So waiting for that day to thin out my collection.

There have been a very few guns that did not work out and ended up being traded or sold. What remains are on hold and in my will. All the best...

You make a good point there Gil…they are in your Will. I have to redo my Will as a matter of urgency, and one of the things I will be including in it is a detailed list of my firearms and to whom they are bequeathed. I intend to list them by Make, Model, Calibre and Serial Number, also the relevant reloading dies, so as to stop any complaints from grandsons. If a grandson doesn’t have a Shooters Licence, then he will not be bequeathed a firearm. The other thing is, if a legal firearm is bequeathed in a Will, the recipient is not liable for the cost of a Permit To Acquire, currently around $40 per firearm.

The rifle I wish I hadn't sold was a Savage 340 in .222.

For a crappy rifle that I loved, it shot circles around 2 Remington 700's in .223 that belonged to a local PD. Theirs had Leupolds on them and mine had an old steel tube weaver 3-9 target that I still have.

an 8 round magazine and it was possible to make it full-auto...
why does that make me thinking about my SA-FN who was originally also made full-auto? Maybe in the past they could reload faster than Luckyluck...

and I might have read it wrong, but that NAACO was not in 45 ACP... it used a larger case and give the .45 bullet almost twice the velocity of a 45 ACP...

The NAACO was a longer case than the acp and had a mv in the 1500 fps range IIRC , it is known now as the 45 winchester magnum , haven't herd about it in many years , doubt it's still available
