When developing loads, I usually sight in my rifles using a front rifle rest and bag. Lately, I've seen a lot of guys using the Caldwell Lead Sled. I know it's supposed to mitigate recoil, but does it help with sighting in?
I assume that the lead sled, would still move, so other than saving your shoulder with heavy recoiling rifles, does it work in helping you sight in? It seems kinda awkward to use.

It is more stabil during recoil.
The recoil moves straight back with minimal twisting motion.
Thought 2 is they are just soft c£%&s.
It also due to damping recoil removes the flinch.
See thought 2.

My groups tend to be a little smaller with the typical tri-pod bag combo !!!
I only use the lead sled when working with heavier recoil.
My final sight-ins are always with a conventional set up because the POI is different with the lead sled.
