I've been trying to work out what Dryer Sheets actually are. Don't think we have these in Australia...although it is the wife's area of expertise. However, I am familiar with the term paper towel strips.

Vince,

They are thouse sheets you put in the dryer to prevent static cling and to make your clothes smell "freash". If you know of any sheet that says its good for "anti-static"/"a softener" and you put it in your dryer thats probably the same thing Smile

Its sold here under many names the most known has to be "Bounce" Smile

A dryer sheet is a small paper sheet with a surfactant on it. You can duplicate the effect by taking a washcloth, some liquid detergent and some water. Use a quart of water to 1/4 cup of liquid dish soap (the biodegradable kind is fine). Put the dry washcloth in the soap and water solution. When it gets saturated take it out and wring it out and let it dry until stiff.
You can use it to repell insects (mosquitos, flies, wasps etc.) or to cut down on static electricity by rubbing it on your plastic powder funnel, scale pan, or by placing it in your tumbler.
