Used guns!?!

We have a Cables up the street. They've gone to the local pawn shops and bought up all the used firearms. Guess that's one way to get guns on the shelves to sell.

There is a Cabela's store in Hamburg, PA that I have visited a few times. Their prices on used guns are usually very high. The same type of used guns in local gun shops in similar condition are often much less expensive. I suspect that when Cabela's buys used guns that mark up the prices a great deal. All the best...

It certainly drives up cost if the pawn shops don't have any to sell. Every hunter/shooter I talk with is buying ammo everytime they see it.

Yep - if I see something priced higher than I'm prepared to pay, then I either go without or find the item at a better price.
Of course if someone is cornering the market then it's a different matter & I get to be rude to people.

Years ago I was looking for a CZ 550 Safari Magnum in 458 Lott. I called a bunch of places comparing prices and, guess what, the price at Cabela's was the best anywhere and, in fact, I've not seen a price that good since then.

I would agree that Cabela's prices are usually a bit high but there are notable exceptions.

1st rule of capitalism : Monopoly is a good thing.
Getting rid of other supply sources would give you monopoly.
Cabela is in capitalist country, can't blame them.

Pay or pass. When enough pass the price will drop. The current hoarding of ammo and components will/has driven up prices. When things get back to normal prices will drop as demand will be low due to all the hoarding. A monolpoly can only charge what the market will bear.

Cabela's has some fancy stores and in most cases prices to match. They buy used guns at low prices and sell them high. Can't fault them for making a buck, but as always buyer beware.

on the plus side you have probably got a better show of getting a problem fixed through them whereas a pawn shop is buyer beware.... concrete guarantee ..once you walk over the pavement made of concrete its finished.
