This is my New PSE Viper Cross bow pkg. I got this to replace my OLD Barnett cross bow. I gave the Ol Barnett to my Son. Smile
Hope this is a good choice, I wanted a Ten Point but could not see spending almost $1300.00 for a cross bow.

Wish you could hunt with a crossbow in Mass.. Good luck and I hope you get a 190 non-typical with it this year .

Can only hunt with them during gun season or Muzzle loader season here in michigan Sad . I wish they would allow them during our regular archery season or give us a CrossBow only season.

My chrono registers 287 FPS as an average. It keeps all the bolts in a cluster you can put your hand around @ 30yds with the scope, rested on the hood of my truck.

I did splurge and purchase a rope cocking devise also, Cocking this thing more than 5 or 6 times can get rough. The advertised velocity is 260 FPS, So the true velocity was a pleasant supprise. Very Happy

It's pretty nice it's not as nice as the one I use to have ( that will teach me Sad ) it shoots pretty good for the price $247.00 and thats with 3 bolts and quiver Very Happy . Lookin forward to trying it out. Pumkinslinger these bolts are 20" long, aluminum and weigh 338 grains.

Thanks Joe! I was wondering what kind of energy and momentum crossbow bolts had. I realize that they kill by cutting but I'm just curious. 338 grains at 287 ft/sec would be about 62 ftlbs of energy and 0.43 slug ft/sec.

So if we add 100 grains for a point... About 80 ftlbs and 0.56 slug ft/sec. By the way, that's about the same momentum as a baseball thrown by a Little Leaguer.

Thats not to bad when you consider that energy is focused all on a razor sharp point with 2 or more razor sharp blades.
My bolts are 411gr with Tekan G5 broad heads attached.

Put a trocar tip and 4 razor blades on that baseball and see if you want to catch it.....
