Alcohol content is controlled, to a certain extent, by the Government. A very Light Beer is 2.2% (very few drink it), Mid Strength Beer is 3.5% (most people who have to drive will only have one or two schooners - 15oz each) and full strength beer is 4.4%-4.8%. Anything over that is classed as strong beer and whilst available, it is expensive and usually imported. I used to buy Trappist Quadrupel Beer at 10% alcohol, but it became too expensive.
The problems caused by drink drivers is horrendous, to the point where they reduced the alcohol limit for drivers from .08 to .05 and every Police car carries alcohol testing gear.
Back on the road today, leaving in around 45 minutes, to drive about halfway home…spending the night in Rockhampton, then home tomorrow. Works out at about 7-8 hours driving each day.
