As Elvis said mate...She Who Must Be Obeyed...your better half mate.

You have both my respect and my sympathy mate. You are doing what needs to be done for your wife. There are some who would simply put their partner in a Nursing Home and walk away. It isn't easy looking after an invalid, but it's something we do for our loved ones. As the marriage vows stated..."For better or for worse, in sickness and in health".

We did the same thing for my Mum, now 93, until she had no option but to go into a Nursing Home. My wife did the toilet/shower things, but we both shared in the other tasks, and it wasn't easy, so I know exactly how difficult life is for you mate.

I understand how you feel about being alone after so many years together, but as they say, 'it's not over until the fat lady sings', so make the most of your time together and enjoy life together whilst doing everything to give SWMBO the best possible quality of life you can. I know this sounds a little callous, but at least you have time to prepare yourself for the eventual outcome, and remember, if you wish to talk about anything, we are here mate.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. It was too many letters to figure out. YD is easier, I don't know if the time is a blessing or not it's tough to watch. She will stay home as long as I can manage or as long as it is safe for her to be here. If work picks up that may be more difficult as there can be long days. I have to get her ready for the day before I leave for work and that can be at 05:00 but we do have an electric recliner that helps her stand up so if necessary she could nap in the chair by the fire. center shotgun with wooden stock is a Winchester model 1300 pump, the black stocked gun looks to be either a winchester or a mossberg 500. Silver barreled shotgun at the top I can't make out. How'd I do?

bottom shotty is an auto-loader and the top one looks to be a break action

I like that clay thrower! I used to have one that mounts on a spare tire, and you pulled a rope. Never could hit anything...I didn't spend much time with it as it was a PIA to operate. That one looks like fun tho.

Man, yer good! Very Happy

The SS O/U is a Ruger Red Label. I've shot only one more uncomfortable shotty in my life. The pull, drop, comb combo are blech! It swings like a fence post. Recoil is nasty. Owner wants to sell it! (no offence to ANYONE, it is a VERY NICE gun, she just don't fit either him or me!)

That was our go-to for a long time and I still have ol' spring-bob out back. I posted a pic of same recently. IT was fun! We got really cocky flinging and crushing doubles. Well.....this new machine? zips them at 55mph +, flat and FAST. Took 5 shots to get on target! The old machine was fun and easy because it was slow hahahaha.

Since the new one foot activated and motorized we can play "down the line" (Annie Oakley). The 3 of us have a blast! The owner is going to robotize it so it will be a wobble trap. It was worth every nickle and took 20 mins. to build. Ok- birds are waking up, gota go down the hill and chase some! chi-CA-go! Very Happy

Happy Turkey Day Suz! Razz

Thats a cool thrower. Never could afford an electric one... always used those super dangerous spring loaded ones. Screwed it to the end of a 2x8, then drove the truck up over the other end when we wanted to shoot.

A few years ago I got one of these, I like it as its super safe to use, and launches just as good as any of the other types. Fine for a manual type thrower. You simply press down on the petal with your foot to add tension, it auto releases when the petal reaches the ground. Until you put tension on it, its just free swinging and safe to be around.

I really like the spring trap. Still go it. It tosses doubles!

Did about 9 miles yesterday in 7 hours. In and out of gorges, off cliffs, the usual. Found some good bunches. Lost one, the rest of my shots were Hail Mary's through the thick thorns. I got worked pretty bad. Not moving too fast this morning here at the shop. Still pulling cactus from my leg. It looks flat in the pic, but it's the steepest, gnarlyest stuff I've bushwhacked through. The flats are super small, they are separated by massive gorges. Guess where the spooked birds like to go into. Bump them in, climb down and flush them out, rinse and repeat- with no blocker. Amazingly diverse landscape: (edits for pic size....sorry it was huge!)

Yessirr Bossman! Snake Chaps when it's warm, briar pants otherwise. Acaia, prickly pear, saguaro, barrel, mesquite looking stuff- all just gnarly and sticky.
Cabela's briar pants, Uplander's Warehouse for same and other goodies, they are the best two suppliers for gear.

Sunday odd's will be a little better. My Wingman is back on the mountain. We have completely changed tactics. It's so thick where the birds are, we are using short guns- short as legally allowed w/ CYL bore choke (or lack there of) and heavy, slowish loads. The birds are either way too close or way way too far. My buddy is using an old Sears coach gun he cut down himself and modified to a straight wrist. He is DEADLY with it on clays. I'm using the old school Winchester. It fits me well, has a super nice pad, it just works on everything. I made a plug from a length of plastic coat hanger. Plus it has a corn-cob fore end. How cool is that. That pump action is as slick as glass.

Also- more big news......

I sold..........."Elvira". Shocked

Yup, hard to say, hard to believe. She served me SO well these past few years. Clays courses, dove fields, quail and wabbits up the wazoo. But, she's moved on to a new home and a new owner who will love and cherish her in a manner befitting the opulent lifestyle she has become accustomed too.

Why? Why in the world??? Well, the short 12GA works better in the super tight stuff up here and in the gnarly desert down the hill......and........proceeds for a .50 S/A project.

Stay tuned....heheheheeeeee Very Happy
