The fuss is a unisex bathroom isn't good enough. They want to be able to go into the bathroom dedicated to the opposite sex if they feel like it.

I don't have a problem with mixed gender toilets, I mean we all live with one or two at home.

Biggest problem I see is from guys who can't, or simply don't want to, aim. There is always urine on the seat, edge of the bowl and the floor. Easy way to fix that is to put a tethered ping pong ball in the bowl floating...guys wouldn't be able to help themselves...a TARGET.

At my shooting club there is a sign over the urinal that says "If you have a short barrel, or low power/recoil ammo, please stand closer to the target."

There are products available for the ladies, and the guys if they want them, that make life a little more hygienic. Pics below.

The good old pissaphone in the back of the Caribou could help.
With the correct posture it was even usable by both sexes.
The only prerequisite was a lack of embarrassment and 3 hands.

Yep, I remember it well...also the crapper on the C130. We had a guy whose aim was to saturate the back half of the Herc with the most rank gut tossing stink possible.

I get ta honk a horn in a RED Fire Truck...what more could a big kid ask for. Scratch
