Deer Sniper, I have a buddy that can not resist a beautifully crafted rifle. I need to introduce him to your thread but I think his wife would return the "favor"!

Mean spirited, vengeful or otherwise unfriendly wives are not allowed!

I wished i had the customers scope on this gun when I took the pictures, but he did not want to take a chance on it getting damaged shipping it back and forth. It is now wearing a Vortex Golden Eagle HD 15X-60X-52mm scope and it looks mighty fine!

ALL fireform loads are staying on target at 600 yards during the barrel break-in process.

This rifle will be used strictly for target shooting, with shooting distances starting out at 1,500 yards, and increasing from there.

Dave, another masterpiece from your hands mate...that is outstanding...once again, I am drooling.

I can’t say I’m familiar with the 338 EDGE...is it a wildcat? What is the intended use of this rifle mate? It would make an outstanding sniper type rifle. I like the stock...plenty of adjustments to get it to fit the shooter perfectly.

Once again, well done my friend.

Hi Vince,

thank you Sir, I appreciate it!

The 338 EDGE is based off of Remington's 300 Utra Mag case.

The 338 Ultra Mag and 338 Lapua can be bought in factory form, while the 338 EDGE is usually from custom builds, but brass is available for the 338 EDGE.

This rifle is built for target work - starting at 1,500 yards and going out from there.

Keith sent me a "2-shot" group this morning from 1,000 yards that measured 1.18" at that distance with Berger Hybrid bullets.

Thank you again Vince.

Thats just nice work and about as minimalist as you can get for the intended use.

Well done as usual.

I can’t even begin to imagine shooting groups like that at those ranges mate...I’d be very happy with a group like that at 100 yards.

Vince,

Keith wanted a gun specifically for long-range targets, with a cartridge that has the accuracy potential to win matches and not he a barrel burner, and I believe he got just what he wanted.

With 6 pounds of lead shot in the forend of the stock, the gun weighed in at around 24 pounds fully decked out, and with the muzzle brake and overall design of the gun, it can be shot a lot and shot very comfortably.

Well, that answered the question I had about recoil and flinching.
With a muzzle velocity that must come very or slightly above 3000 fps how do you control erosion?

Muzzle velocity is 2,750 fps., so erosion is not really an issue.

Well that gets me up to date.
BTW, it is a beautiful work of art and engineering.
