Within 30 days of a global "brown event", 95% or more of the population in "civilised" countries will be gone.
Getting through that is phase one of surviving & it will be the most violent & unpleasant part.
I carry 3 month's food & after that there will be little competition to a "hunter-gatherer" if I don't get enough forewarning to stock up on seeds that have a long shelf life & find somewhere secure to grow them on.
Got a river & the sea not five minutes away, so fresh fish will be a major protein source, along with sheep, rabbits, deer & dogs. Yep; dogs. All those pets will turn into killing packs & devastate the very wildlife I need for food, so they will need eradicating & I see no reason to waste them.

If and when it does happen, most likely there will be massive amount of floating rotting bodies on the river and sea..
You may (or may not) want to wait for a while until they are cleaner before harvest of seafood.
