Since it rained on us today while hunting the only logical thing to do was visit the local Gun Shop. Confused

My son has been eying up a couple revolvers so he twisted my arm to check if they were still there. Well there is one less in the Gun Shop. I am getting jealous of the collection the kid is compiling. Embarassed

This one is a Taurus M45SA with a 5 1/2" barrel you guessed it SHINY stainless. Very Happy

The .45 Colt is such a neat revolver cartridge, not only for the history but also the capabilities. When I load for mine I use cast bullets for the "normal" loads, safe in any gun, and use jacketed bullets for the "Ruger Only" loads. Of course the New Vaqueros are NOT rated for the loads the old Vaqueros and Blackhawks can handle.

The 45 Colt is a great caliber.

There wasn't a whole lot of twisting involved. That boy is going to be the death of me. One of these times when I tell Mama that we bought a new toy she is going to use it on us.

I dread the the day he moves out of the house will feel empty with out his guns.

What diameter cast bullet do you use in you 45 long colt loads?

.451 for jacketed and .452-4 for cast.

My data shows .452-4 for cast and .452 in the jacketed. Isn't the .451 small in the 45 LC? I have some Hornady .451 for the 45 ACP, are they capable of accurately firing the same diameter bullet? I have never had two calibers so close together that I had to worry about it.

You are going to have a hard time keeping up with my son and myself. I am just now getting to start buying my toys since the kids are almost out of the house. My son is trying to build his collection before he gets attached and has kids.
