I have put Simmons scopes on 2 of my Encore handgun barrels (223 & 243) and they have done fine with no problems. I also have a Simmons 2.8X10X44mm Aetec on my 300 Win Mag and it has also stood up with no problems. There are certainly better scopes out there, but until I get my 2 daughters through college, I'll have to make due with the "bargain" brands.

Howdy. I was very happy with the simmons 44 mag 6.5-20 mil dot used today for the first time. I laser bore sighted and it took 3 shots to zero in at 100 yds it responded very well , i have used some scopes when adjusting left or right move up or down as well witch makes it interesting to zero, but this scope adjusted exactly the way it should and has nice clear image, not to bad for $92.00 Smile

Howdy. Most of my scopes are nikon or leupold. I will be setting up a new varmint gun soon and don't know if i will be able to afford one of these scopes for it right away. Has anybody had luck with a less expensive brand in the 6-20 power range, like the bushnell banner ect. thanx for the help

Hi Joe,

Check out Natchez Shooters Supply on line. They have a special on the Simmons Mag 44 6.5x20 with target turrets for $99.99. Very clear scope on a budget. I have several on some of my varmint rifles and they work very well. When I want to get real serious, I still have my Leupold's and Nightforce.

Catch you later.

Rolling Eyes I have several makes and fortunately I've been blessed with very good luck with all of them. With the new management/ownership of Tasco I've been impressed with the very low cost of the Varmint Mil-Dots. I have 4 of them now. 1 6X24 and 3 2X10s. I also was fortunate to get 3 of the old Tasco World Class 2x8 Variable Handgun 30MM scopes when Gander Mountain was selling toem off for 60.00 each. They are still going strong on my 3 main Contender barrels. A few TC scopes, some Simmons Handgun and Rifle. A couple of Weavers and Redfields. Alas only one Leupold at this point, a 2x7 (it moves a bit each year). Also a couple of Bushnells and Burris Rifle & Handgun. I kind of get what I can afford at the time I need one. Rolling Eyes Wink
