taking waterfowl with a bow is probly frowned apon if not illegal.
personally I believe alarm calling parrie ducks should be fair game with a bow while out hunting, many a deer stalk has been stuffed up by that screeching call!!!

Well tonight was an odd night. As soon as I set into my stand along the river the wind started blowing like crazy. There were a couple times I thought I was going to be catapulted across the river bottom. There were no deer moving but I did hear my son go by on his newly repaired Harley, man did it sound good. Well back on track now, I had seen a few duck fly up and down the river. Then a black squirrel came out and wanted to play I had one field point with me. I got close.......... very close but I stuck the arrow into the log just below where he was sitting I had to unscrew the field point to get my arrow back. It was amusing the way he jumped straight up when the arrow hit.

Cant get some if ya don't go- keep it up man! I get skunked a lot. I hunt public lands. I know some that get passes on PP I can't get to and they limit fast. Kinda rub's me seeing all the big take pics when mine are small or zero. But for me any take is so much more gratifying cuz I earned it the hard way. Fair chase tastes great!

That's the spirit...
now when you can share that spirit with your dog, it's giving you so much extra fun that you'll feel sorrow next time you see such a picture with a fat man standing with a big gun behind a big trophy... you even begin to appreciate when game is smarter than you or bad luck is helping the target. Real live and fun has little to do with the amount of money you can spend.
I bet when Wiersy at last succeeds to be somewhat more clever than the game he's hunting, he's going to remember it long time... Don't give up, when the going gets tough...

Pop said- just gota be smarter than what yer huntin'. Sort of an eye opener.
Maybe that's why I come home empty handed and hungry so much!
But even after eon's? I still get a thrill and jangley nerves when I'm sneakin up on something hoping it holds long enough to get a good shot on.
Weirsy's a pro, he knows the score, that's why they call it huntin' not gathern'!

Don't understand me wrong, I didn't mean that Wiersy is a bad hunter...
we in our groupe here have more fun when we miss (sure when somebody elses misses ) and the game wins because it means the hunter is not a perfect machine and there can come another opportunity on that piece. We are not fishing, we cannot put it back after we caught it. This last thing and the fact that we also make a lot of noice are the main problems on hunting.
Nobody can hear you catch many fishes, but everybody can hear you shoot (and every shot sounds like a hit).
Or how to go from waterfowl hunting to heavy psycho?

Vegetarian is an Indian word for bad hunter, isn't it Suz? i am just glad I live in an area that I can go out in the evenings and not have to wait for a "hunting trip".
