In some manufacturing situations, unions have increased the wages way higher than that make overseas manufacturing that much more affordable and without the political hassels.

I know some guys that do construction and a lot of the stuff from China aint allowed on the project site- pipe, wall board and more. Most of it is total crap.

You really do get what you pay for.

Unions pale in comparison to taxes and reg's the Fed's slapped on heavy industry here. If it were'nt for all the boohoo soft sells and weenie faced tree huggers I'd still be in a plant running my 40-ton die cast machine et. al.

GODDA*** STUPID LIBERALS!

Even worse Stovie. Newest problem showing up is birth defects from women being exposed to industrial chemicals that aren't allowed or closely controlled in most developed countries. I suppose the monied investors would just shrug and figure there are plenty more poor farm women where they came from or reply "We aren't responsible for the factories just the capital we have invested." Goes along with 80% of their fresh water being polluted. Answer to that is probably "Let them drink milk."
