Most fallow deer I have seen in one mob was about 8 - 10, and that was at night heading for the broccoli patches and the orchards/vineyards.
I personally don't have a problem with deer out here being considered feral...means no season on them, although there are groups that are trying to introduce seasons in order to "manage the hunting resource". Unfortunately, this also means that once a group has managed to gain some sort of control, then they start introducing hunting charges etc. Even though red deer are feral, without any sort of season, the Australian Deer Association instituted hunting seasons for their members and put a price on each animal...$600 for a buck and about $300 for a meat animal from memory.

I shot a 32 in goat about 4 years ago and carried it back to camp in the back of the ute. The only way I got rid of most of the smell was sell the car.
Some of the stuff that came in contact with the goat, still has "that smell".

+1 on the Jeebus!
My Daddy used to raise sheep, I know the stink. Once in a while you'd get a hermaphrodite and they were worse. My Mom drowned one in the dip tank, said she couldn't stand that thing, thought it was bad juju or something. He took to experimenting and started raising as large a sheep as he could get. Got a few rejects in the process. In the end he had sheep of such size that the shearers couldn't handle them. Back to the drawing board...

WOW...they must have been big sheep Suz. The shearers out here, and in NZ, have no problems with big Merino wethers.

I spent a day crutching big Coupworth ewes a few years back (that is giving thier bums a haircut, nothing carnal) I stand 5'11 3/4" tall and when I grabbed and tipped these big girls to drag them out onto the shearing board their heads were up above mine, you dragem over backwards and them sit them down to do the dagging etc a couple of times a ewe would go flying out of the pen dragging one of us lads untill someone else would come to our aid.
