Glad to know that we all got friends that we could count on.
its 2am here and I am in a strange country that I don't know the language of, and I have just got back from babysitting a couple of huge Swedish that are drunk out of their skull.
I wish I could just left them, but conscience made me stay.. And only drink a couple of beer, since they are sculling theirs..

She is my Ex wife. After the accident when I was in the hospital enduring 10 surgeries she was out with a new boyfriend. After the settlement money hit, and I was having another surgery, she took it and booked. To this day I'm still blamed for everything that goes wrong in her life, if the kids dont act the way she wants them to when with her, and , well, everything. So Id rather the kids not pick up on her mood. She may be giddy with joy over it. |
Sorry didnt know the maritial status.
I have a couple of ex wives which is why I dont go down to Tasmania anymore, they're both down there.(Couldnt export them to NZ, there's a law about mad cows apparently) Still wear the scars from the first one, so I know where your comming from. Leave her to her problems, they became soley hers when she left. Ignore her and deal with your children as you want, its time to get a bit selfish and look after No 1, you. |
yeah, mine is originally from Australia, and came down with Jungle fever here. So that, and the fact that she said she didnt want to deal with my problem as it , and these are her exact words " Your bad for my social life" after my injury. I wish she would go back to Oz, but Im afraid she'd try to take the kids with her. So I do what i can to make things work the way they are for the girls sake.

Dan1Daddio my a-fib happens about every 8 days (give or take) or so. Like a wind up clock! It's like one of my pistons isn't firing...boom chuck-a-lucka-boom boom boom chuck-a-lucka and it's actually a very common malady approx. 2.5 million Americans have it, some don't even know it. It can be mild or sever. Mine is either one or the other, comes on when it wants to and mostly a pain in that sit-down fat. I don't go to work when it's going on and it usually lasts an entire day. I get out of breath easily, so I just stay at home and have a quiet day. I take meds for it which keeps me from having it daily.
The more I've looked at treatments for it and therapies the more relaxed I am with having it. It will get worse with age and the treatments are more aggressive as you progress. Risky stuff tho and I don't wanna risk my life for a treatment that gives 50/50 results.
If not taken care of your heart can do some modeling, and only perform that way (out of whack) so it's best to take meds to minimize the effects. It doesn't totally screw up my life, I have a wonderful existence and have learned to be even more empathetic.
Dan1 You've got some heavy luggage to deal with and I sure don't want you worrying about me! We'll all be taken care of one way or t-other and this is just our way of finding out, where's the door. It's like that lunch box, when you were a kid, never knowing what Moma packed you for lunch. Now you can make your own lunch. I know....it's more fun not knowing what's in there till lunch time, but we're all grown up now. You never know, someone might have slipped a Snickers bar in there when you weren't lookin....so there's the hope! I think I'll make that my Mantra....pray for Snickers....pray for Snickers
peal me
a fresh
one

Pete, my condolences to your mate.
My dad pass away a few years ago, and the pain still there.

That's what I told my mate.
He found his step sons body and is now playing the woulda, shoulda, coulda over and over.
There are times I hate middle age, this is one of them, too many funerals over the last 15 years.

Try being 70 and watching all your friend drop around you.

I feel for you dhc4...been in that world a few times myself. It'll go away with time. Just gotta cherish the memories and realize it's a part of life you can't ignore. The hardest part is trying to console your friend, don't really have to say much, just be there and try and help out. A good friend is like a good job, own your job like it's your own business and you'll be a success. Same for friends, they are family, always have to re-invest your profits in them but the returns are huge.

I believe its called life.
I have just re-read the entire thread, seems September isn't a great time of year for me.
Stay well guys
