Was going to ask Dallan if he would like to get this one on the go, but what the heck, I should do it myself instead of being lazy. Smile

I have no idea on butchering game, deer in particular, and note that a lot of guys in this forum have that experience, or access to it via mates.

Help Can someone please put together something that shows the basics of butchering deer, or any game for that matter. I am sick of ending up with a pile of meat that looks like a train smash. Confused

The skinning thread is extremely well received and I am sure that butchering info would compliment it and be appreciated as well.

Thanks, Vince

Howdy Vince. We have a pretty nice set up at my neigbors house. He has a small cooler box holds 3 deer 4 if ya stuff them, lexon cutting tables, I added a hamburger grinder, slicer for chip steak, freezer paper dispencer. Most of the set up is in his garage so we even stay warm (lol) all that use it pitchs in on the supply's and each has added items for use there, it's a pretty good group of guys. We have a method of cutting thats pretty easy and ya don't need any special items, it's all boneless ya get your tenderloin, backstraps, top round roast, bottom round roast, neck roast and your hamburger or stew meat. I will see what i can do about writing a guide and take some pics with the digital camera and see if Dallan can make it into a Artical and maybe we can get sumptn posted on it.
Joe

Thanks Joe, you are a bloody champion.

I can name most of the cuts but have no idea where they are on the carcass, or how to remove any particular cut so pics and an explanation would be excellent.

Cheers, Vince
